Drawing is a very important part of my art practice before, during and after the making process.

As preparation, I visualise the arrangement of the forms I’m planning to make in response to a space.

I also make drawings during the production process - partly to ensure that what I planned is still working, and also to bring out some of the evocative aspects of the work that start emerging as the artwork is physically realised.

Afterwards, I draw as a reflective process. I usually find myself selecting particular elements of the artwork that have a kind of distilled resonance, that symbolise the physical and emotional impact of the work in situ.
